The news that Bungie internally delayed its new multiplayer shooter Marathon to 2025 last week, alongside a number of layoffs at the studio, isn’t too encouraging, and now a source has shared another piece of bad news.
According to a tip from tubist Aztecross, Bungie held an event in early 2023 where they invited a number of anchors to play Marathon, with most of them playing the main game, Escape from Tarkov, which is the game type of the new Marathon.
After these anchors played, Bungie asked them, “Would they be interested in playing this game if it was released tomorrow?” , however none of the testers raised their hands to express interest, and it looks like early feedback on Marathon hasn’t been all that positive.
